Viking Debuts the 50 Sport Coupe and Sport Tower
Unmatched Versatility with Viking Sportfishing DNA.

(New Gretna, New Jersey, April 2025) – The Viking Yacht Company continues to redefine excellence in the mid-size sportfishing and cruising market with the launch of the 50 Sport Coupe (SC) and 50 Sport Tower (ST).

Whether you're chasing pelagics or cruising the coast, these models deliver performance, comfort and functionality honed through more than 60 years of Viking’s boatbuilding experience. The SC offers a sleek, modern profile for yacht-style cruising, while the ST, equipped with a tuna tower, brings offshore tournament prowess and enhanced visibility.

These boats are part of Viking’s new 50 Series, which includes four distinct models: the 50 Convertible, 50 Billfish, 50 Open Express and 50 Sport Coupe/Sport Tower. Each is built on the same proven hull platform but tailored to different applications and owner lifestyles.

True to Viking’s sportfishing roots, both models feature a purpose-built cockpit with in-deck fish boxes, a raised transom live well and freezer and cooler storage beneath the comfortable mezzanine seating. This cockpit isn’t just built for looks – it’s engineered for action, offering tournament-level fishability with smart design and maximum usability.

The enclosed command deck – three-sided with an optional aft bulkhead – acts as a climate-controlled salon, complete with port and starboard dinettes and a raised helm station with clear sightlines through a single-piece windshield. Flush-mounted electronics and Palm Beach-style controls at the helm ensure intuitive, ergonomic operation.

Below deck, Viking’s commitment to design and craftsmanship is evident in every detail. The two-stateroom layout includes a forward master with queen or crossover berths and ensuite head, and a guest cabin with upper and lower bunks. The starboard-side L-shaped galley is fully equipped with premium appliances – Sub-Zero fridge/freezer, microwave and cooktop – while a sleek HD TV above faces the port-side dinette. Outboard of the dinette is either a Pullman bunk or rod storage. A day head or rod/tackle locker forward of the dinette adds flexibility. As with all Vikings, the interior showcases premium craftsmanship. These models feature horizontal-grain walnut – with superior in-house joinery – for a fresh, elegant look.

The 50 SC and ST are constructed on a proven platform that begins with a resin-infused fiberglass hull for strength and weight efficiency. Also resin-infused, custom fiberglass fuel tanks are strategically installed for center-of-gravity purposes and long-term durability. Viking uses purpose-specific materials and construction methods for each area of the vessel, ensuring high performance across the board. Hatches, doors and other components are built using Light Resin Transfer Molding (LRTM) – a process that delivers lighter, stronger parts with superior fit and finish.

Owners also benefit from the seamless integration of custom electronics and towers by Atlantic Marine Electronics and Palm Beach Towers, Viking’s wholly owned subsidiaries, delivering a complete turnkey experience from day one.

With twin 1200 MHP MAN diesels providing the power, the 50 SC and ST are formidable offshore performers – engineered to deliver speed, responsiveness and confidence in all conditions.

“The 50 SC and ST represent Viking innovation at its finest – fresh designs with the performance, comfort and fishing our owners are looking for,” says Viking President and CEO Pat Healey. “These models expand the 50 Series with new versatility and are an example of our commitment to building a better boat every day.”
