Staying Strong 4/1/2020
To our Viking Family:

Today we mark our 56th anniversary with a pledge to persevere and adapt in this unprecedented time. As many of you know, we temporarily suspended manufacturing operations at our New Gretna and Mullica plants effective March 19 for a 14-day period. This was done to protect the health and well-being of our employees and abide by state and federal guidelines during the Coronavirus pandemic.

We planned to bring back our boatbuilders on April 6. However, with recent Coronavirus developments and President Trump’s extension of social-distancing guidelines, we will instead on April 6 reassess our date to resume manufacturing operations. We feel this move is in the best interest of everyone in the Viking family.

Our commitment to our customers, dealers and vendors is stronger than ever. We are still carrying out day-to-day operations as Viking team members work remotely to build a better boat every day. Our Design and Engineering Group continues to innovate and develop new product; our 5-axis profiler continues to operate, carving the shapes of tomorrow’s new models; the Sales Department is still working with customers and supporting our dealer network; and Marketing’s images and videos are providing owners and their families with some much-needed distraction from an exhausting news media cycle.

In Florida, the Viking Yacht Service Center as well as the southern branches of Atlantic Marine Electronics and Palm Beach Towers are still operational while taking measures to protect their people.

Back in New Jersey, Management and Human Resources have been focused on the health, safety and financial security of the Viking boatbuilders, our greatest asset and the lifeblood of our company. Extreme measures have been taken to sterilize and clean our facilities, and only essential personnel have remained on site to ensure safety. Our workforce is in good health as they stay close to their families at home, and Viking’s Health Services is attending to all their medical questions and needs.

We’re all in this together, and we must do our part to “flatten the curve” so we can return to the boating and fishing lifestyle we all love. Viking has also been actively supporting the medical community. The company has donated a total of 2,650 of the 3M N95 respirator masks as well as 100 Tyvek suits, boots and hoods to various regional medical facilities.

Our 56th anniversary serves as a fitting reminder of our resilience. We have endured many hardships (recessions, storms and the Luxury Tax) since my father Bill and Uncle Bob founded the company in 1964. We build boats – and nothing is going to stop us from doing what we love to do. There is no question. We’ll get through this and come out stronger.

Thank you for your continued support, and please stay safe and stay positive.
