A Sport Yacht for all seasons: Introducing the Viking 52 SY

The Viking 52 Open, which premiered to rave reviews at the 2006 Viking Yacht Dealer meeting in Atlantic City, New Jersey, has a brace of stable mates launching in the months ahead.

The 52 Sport Yacht, blends excitement and style along with lush accommodations for four in two spacious staterooms, each with a private head and shower, plus an in-line galley to starboard. But with our mantra to “build a better boat everyday,” engrained in everything we do, it should come as no surprise that when we designed this new yacht we took it to the next level by developing a model within a model.

Viking’s unique philosophy is clearly seen in the 52 Sport Yacht as two distinct platforms. The enclosed version offers the comfort and luxury of a climate-controlled salon, complete with air conditioning, a raised L-shaped settee, entertainment system, twin pedestal helm seats and beautifully hand-finished teak joinery.

The companion to the enclosed Sport Yacht features a day boat layout with an open back bulkhead and three pedestal helm seats. This arrangement makes an ideal fishing machine when outfitted with a Palm Beach Towers (Viking’s sister company) tuna tower. Both designs incorporate Viking’s innovative mezzanine deck in the cockpit for added flexibility whether cruising or fishing. Both yachts run on the same hull as our popular 52 Convertible with the same power choices (MAN, MTU, CAT) assuring superb sea-keeping characteristics and performance.
